The seventh (Cardiogram) was published by Repro.

Selecting material from these seven books and compiling the items into a single hardback has given me the chance to make them better. Not all of the items made it into the final cut. Some of them had been overtaken by time— for example, the number effects which relied on coin dates in the 1900s only. Some had already re-appeared as updated versions in other publications. Some effects have been shortened and tightened up. In some cases, I’d figured out better or simpler ways of achieving the same effect. Some have had the benefit of ingenious improvements suggested by friends. In fact, all the items have profited from second thoughts.

Many of the items are card effects, but for the sake of variety, you’ll also encounter coins, bills, business cards, books, magazines, ear rings, paper and pencil, wristwatches, handkerchiefs, pens, telephones, thimbles, cigarette papers, and diaries.

List of contents can be seen here.

What they said about the booklets and about Seventh Heaven —

  • I highly recommend the Lewis Jones set of card books … I know that most magicians will go through life performing the same six or seven tricks … Me too, but I have added several to my permanent performance range, thanks to Lewis.
              — Paul Daniels

  • They sometimes say that only 12 people are thinking for the whole of magic. If that’s the case, Lewis Jones is one of them.
               — Donald Wallace, Magic Books by Post

  • Lewis Jones creates practical methods for intriguing problems, and infects the reader with his own enthusiasm.
               — Al Smith

  • This (one effect) alone is worth the price of the book … Lewis Jones has turned the Si Stebbins stack into the best memorized deck available.
               — Peter Duffie

  • Now along comes friend Lewis Jones with a superb, simple method never encountered before. He had me setting up a deck right away, and within minutes I was able to name a card from any given number in the deck.
               — Donald Bevan, Editor, Abra

  • Lewis Jones is one of the great creative minds in magic. He specialises in close-up card magic with an ungaffed deck, placing the emphasis on ingenuity rather than sleights … Seventh Heaven is the result, and it's a joy… The quality of thinking on offer here is quite exceptional, which is why so many magicians around the world have incorporated one or more Lewis Jones tricks into their performing repertoire. Lewis has a remarkable mind, which, allied to a profound knowledge of existing card methodology, comes up with alarmingly baffling plots and equally deceptive methods … Just do yourself a favour, and buy it.
              — Ian Rowland

  • Back in 2001, I was sharply chastized for mentioning Lewis Jones, then a little-known British card genius whose manuscripts were closely guarded by those fortunate to have acquired them … And now comes a handsome whopper of a book, Seventh Heaven, for which Lewis Jones has sifted, sorted, and re-thought over 100 tricks and moves from seven earlier manuscripts … What a treasure. For those unfamiliar with Lewis Jones, he is an original of the stripe of Jerry Andrus, Simon Aronson, and Lennart Green. In Jones' case, his originality lies in a depth of thinking that leads to why-didn't-I-think-of-that sleights or to devilishly clever mathematical (often self-working) mysteries. Jones' trick descriptions will tantalize you. They read like dealer ads, yet, unlike many dealer ads, they deliver on their promises. This book is a steal at 28 pounds plus 5 pounds plus postage.
              — Steve Bryant (Little Egypt Magic)

  • Close-up magicians, both amateur and professional, really will love this book. Wherever needed, descriptions are backed up with high quality photos and the book has been produced to a high standard throughout … With over 100 effects and utilities described, this really does represent excellent value. It's a great collection of magic, that will delight I am sure. Highly recommended.
              — Duncan Trillo Magic Week

  • I put this book on an easy to reach shelf beside the author’s previous hardbound (Ahead of the Pack, co-authored with the late Jack Avis) so it can be referred to often … Those looking for fresh ideas or new twists on old ideas will discover here a target-rich environment. My pen bled all over the glossy-paged margins and I highlighted so much that it looked like I dropped my copy in a urinal … Seventh Heaven is highly recommended for those who like to think with a pack of cards in their hands and to consider the possibilities.
              — Steve Beam Linking Ring

  • Lewis Jones really does ponder his subject at length. In this respect I am reminded of Paul Curry and Stewart James … His thoughtful and analytical approach is not at all out of place in such company.
              — Al Smith Abra

  • “Six Billion to One” is a superb handling and presentation for Paul Curry’s A Swindle of Sorts.” Being virtually self-working, this is a baffling card matching routine that even a beginning magician could put to good use … Seventh Heaven contains a vast array of interesting and sometimes theatrical magic.
              — Eric Mead Genii

  • The material in Seventh Heaven is often quite ingenious … Reading through the book, I was reminded of the creations of Stewart James … If you enjoy card magic in the James style, you will certainly find many items in Seventh Heaven that will springboard your own creative efforts.
              — Michael Close Magic

  • Although I haven't read the book fully from cover to cover, I have come across a few gems so far … I would thoroughly recommend this book … Now I just have to try and keep the Editor off my back until I’ve read it all … several times.
              — John Archer The Magic Circular
